Feature: Fleet unit records

Every unit, one record.

Short answer: MetaFleet keeps a record for each unit a customer brings in: trucks, trailers, tractors, heavy equipment and dollies. VINs are checked for duplicates, units are organised into vehicle groups, multi-location fleets can be flagged as enterprise accounts, mileage or engine hours are recorded when the vehicle arrives, PM schedules can run on either, and the unit's service orders, inspections and PM program stay on the same record.

How it works

Step by step.

  1. Add the unit. By VIN, read from a photo or typed.
  2. No duplicates. VIN checks before a second record is made.
  3. Group units. Vehicle groups by fleet, yard or contract.
  4. Track use. Miles and engine hours at each visit.

Questions

Can I see how hard a fleet runs its units?

You can see fleet health from miles run and visits per unit, and ask the AI about it.

Does it handle equipment as well as trucks?

Yes. Heavy equipment, trailers and dollies are unit types alongside trucks and tractors.

Is this fleet management software?

No. It is the shop's record of the units it services. See fleet vs shop software.
