Parts markup calculator.
Short answer: Sell price equals cost times (1 + markup). A 50% markup on a $100 part sells for $150, which is a 33.3% margin, not 50%. Enter your cost and markup to see price, profit and margin.
Sell price = Cost x (1 + Markup %)
Gross margin % = (Sell price - Cost) / Sell price x 100
Markup % = Margin % / (100 - Margin %) x 100
Gross margin % = (Sell price - Cost) / Sell price x 100
Markup % = Margin % / (100 - Margin %) x 100
How to use it
- Enter what you pay for the part.
- Enter your markup percent.
- Read the sell price and the margin you really keep.
