Feature: Skills and service areas
The right tech, in the right area.
Short answer: MetaFleet records the skills each technician holds and the service areas the shop covers, with what each area can handle. Dispatch uses both to offer a job to qualified technicians nearby, and raises an alarm when no technician has the skill, the ETA climbs or a technician is running slow.
How it works
Step by step.
- Tag skills. What each technician is qualified to do.
- Draw service areas. Where the shop goes and what it handles there.
- Offer the job. Only to qualified, on-shift technicians.
- Raise alarms. No skilled tech, rising ETA or slow progress.
Questions
What happens if nobody has the skill?
Dispatch raises a no-technician-with-skill alarm so a dispatcher can step in.
Can rates differ by service area?
